How do I book my dog in for boarding or daycare?
Before any booking can be taken a meet and greet must take place at Chadwyns Dog Stop. This allows us to meet and see if our services will be a good fit for you and your dog.
Following the met and greet I will email you the following documents:
Along with this completed documentation you are also asked to provide a copy of the dog's vaccination record .
Once the completed documentation and vaccination record copy has been returned to me I will email a deposit invoice for the boarding period required.
As I only board small numbers, a delay in returning the above documentation to me may mean that the dates you require are no longer available.
Your booking will only be confirmed once all documentation has been completed and returned, and your deposit has been paid.
How much do you charge?
The standard overnight rate is currently £39 per dog. This rate applies to each full or partial 24-hour period starting from the time that the dog arrives on the first day. The day care rate is £29 for a full day (08:30-16:30) and £19 for a half day (08:30-12:30 or 13:30-17:30). Additional hours are available at a cost of £3.50 per hour.
A 50% surcharge will be added for the days between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day inclusive.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to confirm your booking. I ask for a deposit as we only have a small number of boarding places and they fill up quickly. The remaining balance is due before boarding commences.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes, your dog must be fully vaccinated to board with us. This includes vaccination for kennel cough and up-to-date worming and flea treatment. A vaccination record must accompany your dog when they visit and a copy will be taken for our records. We are not able to accept titre testing.
Does my dog need to be neutered?
I generally do not board entire males over the age of 12 months old. Please contact me to discuss further. I do board un-spayed female dogs, however they cannot be boarded if they are due to come into season. If they do come into season whilst in my care I will contact you or your secondary/emergency contact and an appropriate plan of action will be made.
Do you accept puppies?
Yes, I generally accept puppies from six months of age, but as long as they are fully vaccinated and are house trained, or certainly getting the idea, I would be happy to discuss your needs.
My dog does not like other dogs, can they still board?
As I offer a cage-less home boarding environment I am only able to board well socialised, non-aggressive dogs who are happy in the company of other dogs.
Can my dog still board if they take medication?
I am experienced in giving tablet & liquid medication and ear/eye drops, and would be happy to discuss your requirements prior to booking. All medication must be in its original dispensing packaging which must show clear instructions.
What do I need to bring when my dog comes to stay?
You will need to bring enough food for their stay, feeding bowls, treats, bedding, any medication, lead and a well fitting collar with ID tag, harness if your dog uses one, grooming equipment, vaccination certificate and anything else you think that would make your dog feel at home.
What if my dog is unwell whilst I am away?
If your dog becomes ill or injured while boarding with us, it will be necessary for me to contact a registered vet for advice or to take them in for a medical consultation. Before boarding your dog I will ask for your consent for me, in an emergency, to approve necessary treatment. I will always make every effort to contact you or your secondary/emergency contact first before consenting to any treatment if the situation and time allows.
Where will my dog sleep during their stay?
All of our boarders will sleep in their own room, or in the same room as other dogs from your household with your permission, whist staying with us. I will try to keep to your dog’s normal routine as much as possible so if your dog sleeps downstairs then they will do so here. If they are used to sleeping upstairs in your bedroom then they can do that here too.
