My name is Alison and since rehoming my first dog, a young lurcher, over twenty years ago dogs have always been a big part of my life. I am fortunate to have a very supportive family, and with a little help from them I have been able to set up my own business where I get to do what I love every day.
Following a long search for a new family home, we found a beautiful five acre property set in Walford, Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of the Wye Valley. This lead to us moving to Herefordshire and where Chadwyns Dog Stop was born. We welcome a small number of dogs to stay in our family home whilst you are at work, on holiday or if you simply need to spend time away from home. Whilst staying with us dogs will have free access to our home where they can socialise with our other guests if this is something they would enjoy, or we can provide a quiet comfortable room if they prefer. They will have supervised use of our secure garden and fully enclosed paddock (see the virtual tour) allowing all guests to have lots of off-lead fun. In addition to spending time in our fantastic outside space, guests will also have the opportunity to walk in the woodland and countryside surrounding our home.
We have two dogs of our own, Kai a nine year old Lurcher and Ingrid a two year old Saluki/Lurcher, who both enjoy having guests to stay. We also have two older dog-savvy children, who are always willing to join in if that’s what our guests enjoy. I only use positive training methods and provide lots of opportunities for enrichment for all of our guests enjoy.
I am Ofqual trained in Canine Behaviour and Welfare, and also in Canine Health and First Aid. Our home is licensed by Herefordshire Council to provide home boarding and daycare and we are insured with Cliverton, one of the leading insurers in the industry.
